Tasting notes :
Colour : amber with coppery highlights, clear, with good body.
Nose : deep and captivating : elegant rancio (dried fruit, soft fig, candied orange peel), toffee undertones, vanilla, precious woods, a hint of mocha, light smokiness (extinguished firewood) in the background.
Palate : silky and full-bodied, velvety texture. Broad complexity with good structure : prune, beeswax, blond tobacco, a hint of coffee, a subtle yet persistent smoky note. A taut, almost saline minerality that lingers and provides balance.
Finish : very long, noble, mellow, like embers slowly dying out.
Cru : Grande Champagne, 1st of the Cognac appellation.
Grape variety : Folle blanche.
Ageing : 15 years in French oak barrel.
